It's finally that time of the year again; summer is just around the corner and I join the majority of my fellow students in one thought: "Let's get the hell out of here."

Unfortunately, there is still one more week of school to go, and even more unfortunately, it's the worst week of the entire year. I submit my final article of the year in honor of those of you who join me in dreading the last week of the term.

Finals week is probably the most hated five days of any student's college career, but finals week of spring term always seems to be the hardest of the three terms (at least this is true for me). Spring term is always where many students slack off on their studies and spend excess amounts of time outside in the sun or distracting themselves with drinking, parties, video games and that elusive summer job hunt.

While all these distractions are fine and good, they take away vitally important time from studying, which we should all be filling our days with - or at least these last few days of school. Once summer comes, feel free to fill your time with whatever you like; party, drink, play video games and take time to stop and smell the roses, or whatever it is the kids smell now days … unless of course you're stuck here taking summer classes, in which case, I'm sorry, but you're pretty much screwed.

In my three years here at our glorious university, I have picked up a few finals week study tips that may or may not be of some help to you.

First and foremost, study your heart out. Yes, this may be obvious to some of you, but take it from me, there are students out there who think they can walk into the final exam room and recall everything they need without any study time at all.

While I admit this is foolishness, I personally made that very mistake in my early terms here and it did not turn out very well for me nor my transcript - and let's just say my parents were less than thrilled.

Also, if there are professor-student sessions, final review lectures or study groups offered, try to attend them; the assistance of your classmates may be of more help than you think.
