Dear friends and fellow Beavers, this is my last column for the Daily Barometer. In less than a week I will get a shiny piece of paper from the University signifying the completion of four years of hard work, lots of stress and some of the best times of my life.

Traditionally, outgoing seniors write their last column in the form of some sort of nostalgic, lofty reminiscence about their time in school. Honestly, I don't even want to try and condescend to you all about where I've been and what I've done. Most of you have had experiences here at Oregon State that are just as rewarding as mine, if not more.

Instead I would like to provide you with a long list of quotations that I feel signify a great deal of the life lessons I have learned as a student at this wonderful institution. Hopefully you will find something in the following lines that catches your interest and speaks to you about your accomplishments here at OSU as well.

"Go for things in life that are eternal" - Anonymous

"Education is an admirable thing, but it is well to remember from time to time that nothing worth knowing can be taught." - Oscar Wilde

"Time is a great teacher, but unfortunately it kills all its pupils ..." - Louis Hector Berlioz

"A common mistake that people make when trying to design something completely foolproof is to underestimate the ingenuity of complete fools." - Douglas Adams

"I always wanted to be somebody, but now I realize I should have been more specific." - Lily Tomlin

"If at first you don't succeed, redefine success." - Author Unknown

"One of the symptoms of an approaching nervous breakdown is the belief that one's work is terribly important." - Bertrand Russell

"Walk softly and carry a big stick." - President Theodore Roosevelt

"The conclusion is the place where you got tired of thinking." - Arthur Bloc

"Two things are infinite: the universe and human stupidity, and I'm not sure about the universe." - Albert Einstein
